MEET OUR MUSIC DIRECTOR
Joel Hinck (jhinck@stpauls-lutheran.org) is a graduate of Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he received a Bachelor of Music degree in composition. He also studied sacred music, and has been involved in church choirs and praise teams since childhood. Joel is also a songwriter- you can hear his music on his website, www.wordlikefire.com.
OUR MUSIC PROGRAM
There are many ways to share your musical gifts at St. Paul’s. They include:
The Heritage Choir: The Heritage Choir rehearses a variety of choral anthems, generally for performance at our 8am traditional service. Anyone high-school age and up is welcome, no experience necessary. The choir rehearses Wednesday nights at 7:30 in the music room (between Labor Day and Memorial Day).
The Praise Team: The Praise Team leads the congregation at our 10:30am contemporary service. We use a wide range of instruments and singers. The team rehearses on Thursday nights at 7:30 in the sanctuary (year round). Praise Team members: click here for schedule and song info.
Saturday Nights: Singers and instrumentalists help lead our more laid back, blended Saturday night service. A mix of hymns and contemporary songs are sung. Rehearsals take place prior to the 5pm service.
Instrumental Groups: Bells, brass, and other instrumental groups are always a welcome enhancement to our services. Let us know what you play and if you’re interested in playing with a group.
Special/Solo Performance: Instrumental and vocal solos are always welcome, just contact Joel if you have a piece you’d like to share.
